Falcon Garments is now offering to make jackets out of a variety of Horween leathers for an upcharge. Lead times for these will be a bit longer (6-8 weeks as opposed to the current 2-3), but we feel that it’s well worth it. We recommend anywhere from 1.0mm – 1.2mm thickness for these, and think makeups would be particularly great for bombers, riders & motos.

Chestnut Dublin – Gorgeous hide. In my top 3 favorites out of the bunch. Oily and waxy feel. Thick and hefty, but pliable. Can already tell from the color variations you see when it bends and moves that it’s going to patina like crazy.
Havana Brown Aniline Chromexcel – In the top 3 favorites. Similar waxy and oily hand to the Chestnut Dublin, but maybe a bit less waxy and a bit more oily. It’s lovely. This leather will patina amazingly.
Horween Tea Core Steerhide – Starts off thick and shiny as pictured but morphs into something else entirely as moisture and friction wear off the top coats and the leather begins to become more matte as it breaks in. Characteristics and color change at high friction points. This is one of the nicer hides and a great choice if you want a black jacket.
Dark Russet Outrigger – Really soft-handed nubuck – very buttery feeling.
Hemp Phantom – Another gorgeous hide. Great waxy hand. Thick, but pliable. Nice color.
Tobacco Snuffed Suede – Great hand feel to this suede. Very matte and tight. Very nice color also.
Paloma Dryden – Similar to the Dark Rust Outrigger. Gorgeous stone color.
Roadmaster – Very light, tumbled leather with dry texture.
Cinnamon Chromexcel – Nice grain, very hefty and sturdy. Pretty matte look. Should patina nicely. A shade lighter than natural waxed flesh chromexcel.
Natural Waxed Flesh Chromexcel – Similar to its Cinnamon counterpart (but just a shade darker) – Nice grain, very hefty and sturdy. Pretty matte look. Should patina nicely.
Horween Khaki Calico – A relatively dry and fleshy full-grain suede with medium to high nap that feels dry and moderately firm. Durable and resistant to stains and water. Very nice beige color, waxy hand yet soft.
FQHH Vintage Dark Russet – Interesting texture, a little thinner than the calf samples. Beautiful color. Pull up is there but not as dramatic as Havana, Dark Rubber, or Chestnut Dublin. We used this hide for the Franklin & Poe A2 collaboration.
Black on Red Calico – Double dyed-leather with a black rough suede layer on top of red core. Full-grain suede with medium to high nap that feels dry and moderately firm. Durable and resistant to stains and water.
